In 1992, John Economaki created the first CenterScribe CS-1. It automatically finds the center of stock. CS-1 became one of the most popular tools because it scribes the center of a board without measuring and math!
In 2008, John came up with the second generation of CenterScribe CS-2 with modern structure of anodized aluminum. Besides the centering features of CS-1, CS-2 CenterScribe can also locate the centers of cylinders and squares with progressive design.
Twelve years later, John redesigned the CenterScribe, and here comes the brand new CS-3 CenterScribe. Like every other tools of Bridge City, CS-3 CenterScribe is designed with perfect combination of intended functions and unique aesthetics.
Compared to CS-2, CS-3 adds a built-in Mortise/Tenon Attachment, which allows you to make perfectly centered layouts of mortises and tenons for stock of various widths without math! Also added is a lock knob, which is only used when you are using the CenterScribe with one outrigger engaged so it works like a marking gage. The new lock knob thread is metal which presses against a skid plate to keep from scoring the arms.
Constructed from anodized Aircraft Grade aluminum alloy parts and a unique stainless steel braided cable/pulleys system, CS-3performs many functions including center findings of stock, cylinders, squares and centered layouts for mortise and tenons:
Scribe a centerline on stock up to
7-7/8" (200mm) wide
Locate dead center on square stock 6-7/64"(155mm) square
Locate the centerline of tapered stock quickly
We are sure that this state-of-the-art CenterScribe CS-3 will make your woodworking much faster and easier, and it is obviously a visual pleasure in your shop!
