So, we thought it would be fun to create a Special Version of the best-selling HP-8 Mini Block Plane to Celebrate the creativity of the global woodworkers. We call this edition “HP-8X Celebration Edition Mini Block Plane”.
The HP-8X has no difference from HP-8 in functionality, but it features special structure materials and special surface finish: The body is made of high-grade Stainless Steel, the depth skid is made of Titanium Alloy. All the surfaces are polished and PVD coated in three stunning cool colors: Jet Black, Sapphire Blue and Champagne Gold. The iron is mirror polished as well with refined to smooth adjustment mechanism.
Because of the above upgrading, HP-8X is simply a speechless wonder for your hands and eyes! We believe HP-8X will give you the best opportunity to celebrate your creativity in woodworking!

Adhering to the consistent aesthetics of Bridge City, the surfaces of all the main parts are processed with a special PVD coating (Physical Vapor Deposition) which provides a stunning ceramic finish with unmatched corrosion and wear resistance.

Precise blade adjustment system
The HP-8X plane has an adjustable blade depth mechanism with a feed adjustment knob, which makes the settings easy and accurate. Rotating the adjustment knob one turn can make a fine adjustment of 0.07mm (approx. 0.003”) in the blade depth.
Plane for fixed thickness
The most amazing capability of the small block plane is the ability to thickness plane small stock. By placing any reference material such as acrylic, Masonite, playing cards under the front and rear of the sole, you can drop the skids to your workbench surface and tighten. Set the iron depth to a comfortable depth and plane until the plane quits cutting. All of your stock will be within 0.001” (0.025mm).
