Inspired by a wood-cut image of a little brace for grinding the valve seats in an old manua lfor Ford Model T, John Economaki became obsessed with the possibility of a similar tool perfect for hand drilling and screwdriver, and he created the PB-1 Palm Brace in 2000.
In 2008, John designed the Commemorative Edition Palm Brace CT-16 to celebrate our woodworking heritage.CT-6 perfectly embod-ied John's Minimalist Artistic Approach in design and its "Black and White" simplicity created a new visual aesthetic only possible with modern processes.
Twelve years later, with the inheritance of the legendary PB-1 and CT-16, John Economaki createdthe brand new Palm Brace PB-2. PB-2 Palm Brace is a progressive evolution of PB-1 and CT-16 owingto John's continuous passion for perfection and the advancement of modern technology.
Compared to CT-16, PB-2 features a Titanium Brace Arm made of Grade 5 Titanium Alloy (TC4)which Provides Superior Strength, Hardness and Light Weight. Secondly, PB-2 features the Complete PVD coatings of Titanium Carbide (TiC)on all surfaces with unmatched scratch resistance and Jet-Black Ceramic Finish.
Combination drilling/countersinking is equally fun and impressive with the PB-2 Palm Brace. It's very easy to accurately control depth, with a single drill / countersink bit, you'll be able to seat #4-12 Flathead screws with easeand perfection. (Single flute counter-sinks work great in wood and non-fer-rous metals.) Drilling is remarkably fastand the bits are all positive locked in the precision 1/4"Hex Keyless Chuckwhile exiting a hole.
